“Old Florida Vibes”

In celebration of the Alden Suites 50thAnniversary of being family owned and operated, and in collaboration with Gibbs Mural Club, we created a mural that connected people from far and wide.  The theme for this mural was inspired by the vintage postcards that we all know so well.  Creating a mural that represents the family-oriented nature of Alden Suites, St. Pete Beach, and Florida was the main objective for this project.

In an effort to include the community that the Alden Suites Resort has faithfully served for the last 50 years, they extended a call for photographs of past vacations at the resort.  A winning photograph , From the Snelson family, was selected and incorporated into the design.  The Green family, long-time guests from St. Louis, recently lost a pet/member of their family named Cayanne.  Cayanne became very well known and loved by quests during her 15 year run vacationing at Alden Suites resort. In honor of her memory, she takes center stage with a little girl.  Other elements tha t are unique to Alden can be found throughout the painting.  Including all of the amenities Alden Suites has to offer was a challenge to combine into a single design.

This was a great opportunity for students to interact with guest from around the world.  The community support that we received was outstanding.  Big thanks to Mary Ann Renfrow and family, the Alden Suites staff and quests, and the everyone involved in helping this project come to life.  For more on this story, follow the link below.
